About: 

Jessica Maratsos (PhD Columbia 2014) specialises in Italian Renaissance art, with an emphasis on intermedial exchange, religious practice, and issues of gender and the body.听 She is the author of Pontormo and the Art of Devotion in Renaissance Italy (CUP, 2021).听 Her current research examines the role of relics as objects of transnational mobility and transformative materiality in the early modern era.听 She has previously taught at the American University of Paris, Columbia University, and Harvard University.
