Intersections: Between Music and Theatre in Seicento Italy

This two-day conference, exploring theÌýconnections between theatre and music in seventeenth-century Italy, will be held on Thursday 20th September and Friday 21st September 2018 in the Conference Room SR24 of the Faculty of English on the Sidgwick Site of the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼.

We are excited to welcomeÌýProf. Richard Andrews (University of Leeds), Prof. Antonio Rostagno (Università degli Studi di Roma ‘La Sapienza’), andÌýDr Lisa Sampson (University College London) as our keynote speakers.

The conference programme will include aÌýCommedia dell’ArteÌýacting workshop with director Ludovico Nolfi and a fully-staged performance ofÌýMonteverdi’sÌýIl combattimento di Tancredi e ClorindaÌý(1624) inÌýClare College Chapel. Both events are free and open to the public.
