Call for Applications:Ìý Introduction to Crimean Tatar Language and Culture Workshop 19-20 May 2016 °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼

The Crimean Tatars are the indigenous people of Crimea, aÌýSunni Muslim Turkic-speaking nationÌýwhose khanate ruled the Black SeaÌýpeninsula and its environs for over threeÌýcenturies. On 19-20 May, °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ Ukrainian Studies is hosting a two-day ‘Introduction to Crimean Tatar Language and Culture’ for qualified postgraduate students, which will consist of ten language lessons and lectures in literature and music.Ìý

We are delighted to share that Professor Rory Finnin has been awarded two prestigious prizes by the Association for Slavic, East European & Eurasian Studies (ASEEES) for his book Blood of Others: Stalin's Crimean Atrocity and the Poetics of Solidarity (University of Toronto Press, 2022). These ASEEES prizes follow on from two other awards for Blood of Others announced earlier this year.
