For students following the Linguistics Tripos in Part I, you should choose a total of four papers from Section C and Section D.
For students following another Tripos at Part 1, you must take four papers, comprising of:
- Paper Li.1听- Sounds and words 鈥�
- Paper Li.2听- Structures and meanings 鈥�
- TWO papers to be chosen from听Section C听and听Section D
鈥� If this paper has already been taken in another tripos it cannot be taken again and another paper must be chosen from Sections C and D.

- 13: History of the English Language听 (runs on alternate years with Li11: 蝉耻蝉辫别苍诲别诲听in 2024-25)
- 14: History of the French Language听 (suspended in 2024-25)
- 15: First and Second Language Acquisition
- 16: Language Learning and Cognition
- 17: Language Typology听and Cognition
- 18: Computational Linguistics
