About Me

Fangyu is a 2nd-year PhD student in NLP at theÌýLanguage Technology Lab,Ìý°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼, supervised by ProfessorÌýNigel Collier. He is recently working on three things:    1.Ìýmulti-modality: connecting language with knowledge and perception;    2.Ìýself-supervision: specialising language models without (human) labels;    3.Ìýinterpretability: what’s encoded/missing in (pre-)trained model weights? He is a member ofÌýClare HallÌýand a Trust Scholar funded byÌýGrace & Thomas C.H. ChanÌý°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼ Scholarship. Besides °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼, he also spent time doing research atÌýAmazon,ÌýEPFL, and the University of Waterloo.
